Disney Princess On Ice

The title says it all really.... giddy girls (me included) danced around the house all day waiting for it to turn 5:30 when our chariot departed for the show.  Annabelle dressed in her finest Princess Belle dress, standing on her "stage" singing songs and waiting for the chance to jump in the car and see those magical princesses.

The trip to the area was less enthusiastic.  Kyle was out of town working.  Let's just day that I may have turned around but for the help of my friend Amy (Ken's girlfriend) who managed to keep the experience lighthearted.... although I am not sure she will ever volunteer to help me again.  The 15 mile drive took 2 hours door-to-door in the poring rain with a crying baby for at least 45 of those minutes.  I mention poring rain, because once we got to the arena, we had to walk in the rain for at least a 1/2 mile.  Oh, the joys :).  Belle was a trooper and walked, although the bottom of her dress and shoes were soaked (which she didn't notice once inside, thankfully).  So, we get tot eh Will Call window to pick up the tickets that I had won through a random drawing, expecting the worst tickets in the house, we were so excited to learn that we have really good seats, on an isle, about 15 rows up from the ice, so exciting.  We rushed inside, having missed the beginning, walked through the booths of $20 sippy cups and glow-in-the dark twirly things, Belle could have cared less about the gadgets, this time :).  We sat down and Belle didn't move for 1 1/2 straight hours.  Her eyes glued to the ice, no time for smiles or photos, she was in a trance....
Amy took turns with Quentin, while I found the best part of the night....
Beers..... something to take the edge off.  Those Bud Lights couldn't have tasted better after the rushing to get to our seats.  We both admitted, the show was pretty entertaining for the adults too.  Quentin slept through part of it, and by the time we got the kids back in their car seats, they were asleep, so the 20 minute drive home seemed like a breeze.
