The World Baby Tour Begins

Annabelle's First Flight.

We arrived at the airport about 1 and 1 half hours before our flight. We had two checked bags, two carry-on bags and the diaper bag. We decided to check our bags with the skycap, which worked very well. Then I carried the baby - we didn't bring a car seat because we decided to borrow when we arrived in MN and MS - and the diaper bag (my usual attire). Kyle had his backpack with the computer, video camera and regular camera and the additional carry-on with miscellaneous items that didn't fit in the other luggage.

We got through security with no problems. We waited at the gate - Annabelle wide eyed and ready for her trip. We boarded the plan and she started to get sleepy. As we were taking off I fed her a bottle, but it was hard to get her to keep eating because she was so sleepy. No crying on take-off, so I am guessing the "sucking" worked to clear her ears. It was a bumpy flight, but Annabelle didn't mind, it rocked her into a deep slumber. Such a deep slumber that we decided not to wake her on the descent and just see how she does. She slept all the way to the baggage claim where Angie, Kaylee and Mya were waiting to greet us. We put Annabelle in the car seat and drove to my Dad's house, which was about an hour drive (in traffic) where she slept a good part of the drive. What a good traveler. So far....
We had a great time visiting with my Dad and his wife Karen and her three girls and their families. Lots of kids and lots of fun. My uncle and aunt Mark and Cris and their daughter Shari also came down to see the baby. It was a nice time to visit and everyone got plenty of baby holding time... I think.
