Christmas in Mississippi

We had a wonderfully relaxing time with Kyle's family in balmy Mississippi (balmy compared to the alternative in Minnesota).

Christmas Eve we sprinkled "reindeer food" made up of oats and glitter so that the reindeer could find their way to Grandma Mississippi and Grandad's house.  Note the adorable new Christmas jammies from Grandma Mississippi.
Annabelle was convinced she heard Santa, some "ho ho ho in the distance" she proclaimed.  She walked back in the house and insisted she go to bed, so that Santa wouldn't skip her house.  It was barely 7:00, but what the heck, she was so excited she could hardly contain herself.  We let her watch Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer on her new iPad until she drifted off to sleep.  Sugar Plums dancing in her head, dreaming on Santa and Rudolph I'm sure.

Oh, and of course we set out milk and cookies for the Jolly Ol' Fella.

Christmas morning the children work up LATE, which meant mommy and daddy got to sleep in.  Well, I was so excited I was up before anyone, I couldn't wait for Annabelle to wake up.   She loved the entire day and was so happy that Santa's elves made her a Mulan, the only Disney Princess figurine she didn't already have and the only thing she had been asking Santa for all month. (The below photo is a different princess, the camera was put away by the time Mulan appeared).  Quentin was pretty excited about the wheels on the cars he got from Santa... he's all boy.  And both the kids loved the wagon they get to ride in when they visit their Grandparents in Mississippi.
