Annabelle Jefcoat Turns One

We had a wonderful day today spending time with Belle as a family. She opened her birthday presents from her party yesterday and her presents from her mommy and daddy. We got her baby musical instruments so that when her friends come over to play, they can all be in a band. So far, she loves the tambourine the most.
It has been a very happy day, Kyle and I have been reminiscing about the past year - wow how time flies. Everyone told us this time in our lives would seem to fly buy, but until you experience it yourself, you just can't imagine how true it is.
It is hard for me to believe I would be writing an email about my "baby" turning ONE. It just doesn't seem real. I feel like it was yesterday when I was bringing her home from the hospital, with her hat down to her nose and screaming the whole way home in her car seat. Kyle and I looked at one another with terror in our eyes... what had we gotten ourselves into?
Lucky for us, Belle has been a good baby from the very first day. She has consistently been a good sleeper (like her mommy), starting off at 5 hours a night at just a few weeks old. By three months she was transferred from her bassinet to her crib where she slumbered for twelve straight house - she still does this now. As Belle grew from an infant to a baby, her personality started to develop. She is mostly laid back and seems to go with the flow, but the older she gets the more of her mommy's personality I see coming through. She is becoming a very persistent little girl.
Right now Belle is walking with some assistance and getting into everything. She climbs the stairs in a second, she loves the crystal cabinet (apparently the crystal is so fun to play with - it's shinny), she pulls the drawers out of everything she can to create a ladder to climb, she pulls everything out of every drawer she can get into - now most of the drawers have baby locks which just makes her mad. She helps me wash everything she can reach with wet washrags (a new favorite thing these days).
Every night we put Belle to sleep and are amazed that we created such a wonderful baby. We are very blessed and so happy.
Love, The Jefcoat Family
